It went as high as 24.8 but this was right after I filled up with gas and hopped on the freeway. It's weird. I drive a lil bit in the city and Bam my mpg goes down drastically.

I'm not sure what my MPG will be when my tank is empty but I'm starting to wonder if this is worth it cuz I'm really really driving like a turtle and it's a bit annoying....
Just enjoy your car. Remember you bought a 300+hp car. If MPG is that important the decision should of ben different car. It kills the purpose of driving a G if the rpm stays under 3k. Missing the best part.

Fun > mpg

^ I totally agree with you..

This max MPG started when my buddy with a FX said he got like 23 plus miles going 65 miles on the freeway.. so we're having a MPG war right now. = )

Oh, I know i didn't buy a car for the mpg, I was just curious if something might be wrong because I didn't expect it to be that low.

Thanks

Our 07 G35 got about 26 hwy, our new 09 G37 gets 30 if were not running ethanol. Just got new 20" wheels that a a bit heavier and now get about
28.5mpg going 80 (and yes, it's to Vegas too )
Around town hard to tell, I'd say 18 in our 07 and 20 w/ our new G avg.

Well I haven't heard anyone come on and say they are getting 13 mpg, so I'm guessing something might be wrong?

This might be a really stupid question, but that's what these forums are for right, What's this talk about the 'ethanol', do they put this in the gas in the winter time? Help with freezing?

Thanks

Ethanol's a corn-based fuel that is supposed to improve emissions and is becoming much more popular during the winter months. Unfortunately our Gs aren't tuned for it and will result in at least 10% worse mileage. It's also highly subsidized and tends to win favor from the "green" crowd so I doubt it's going anywhere soon

I've driven 6,668 miles from purchase of my used '07 to my last fillup. IN that time, I've averaged 16.7 mpg overall. If I'm doing my typical drive to work commute and do that for a whole tank, I regularly get in the low 14/high 13's mpg wise.

On the highway I get 24-26mpg.

So....it's not unheard of.

with "winter Blend" gas in the NY area, driving in this cold weather, to and from the train station - 2 to 3 mile runs....lucky to 11.5 mpg. In summer, I was getting about 13 in same conditions. Stop and go, local driving, our 07 Honda CRV gets about 13-14 in same conditions. 16 if you "milk it".... Cold engines, stop and go = lower mileage. Throw in the winter blends (more than normal ethanol). BTW, the Infiniti manual does indicate that up to 10% ethanol in the gas is alright. In older vehicles, my 2001 Pathy, it cooks your O2 sensors...

No cars are "tuned for" ethanol. Ethanol has less energy than gasoline, so it will never burn as efficiently as gasoline in any car. The cars designed for higher ethanol concentrations (E85) get much worse gas mileage than gasoline cars -- but the price is heavily subsidized by the gov't so the out of pocket cost is about the same as gasoline.

There is a push to increase the 10% ethanol in normal gas to 15% -- which some cars can handle, some cannot.

My old '92 Q45 started losing injectors once E10 (10% ethanol gas) was introduced in GA in spring of '08.

I get about 15.7 with a mix of about 40% highway 60% Local with my 08 G35x. I tried Royal purple synthetic in my last oil change it raised me to about 17. So over a 5k mile oil change its probably a wash to saves me 20 bucks, but I own it so why not. I just got a free oil change from the dealer as a holiday coupon and my mileage is back to the high 15's again. Even a free bee from a dealer costs you money
