Arrow 07 G35x - Is this a good deal?

Hey guys,
I currently have an 05 G35x and i found an 07 G35x that has 82K miles and the dealer is asking $15,995 for it. It doesnt have the premium package or nav but does have a sunroof. Clean carfax. Dark Grey / blue color with black interior. I havnt tried to negotiate the price and have not gotten a quote for what they would give me for me car as trade or anything yet but just wanted to get some input from you guys..... or anything i should look for? Since i will probably check it out tomorrow afternoon.....

my current 05 has more miles with nav and premium package, but i like the design of the new ones a lot more. and dont find myself ever really using the nav system...

thanks

Make sure you check Carfax for possible reasons it is selling below market: accidents/damage/repairs etc. Otherwise it's a pretty new car with highway mileage - in the past used cars like this would last me a long time problem-free.

I think its selling for a low price mainly because of the miles. if it has a clean history, id bite.

Heck, I don't know anymore. The G resale is much worse than I thought at least here in Oregon. I can't get rid of my very clean 07 G35 S Sedan w/premium with only 37k miles for $22,800 to save my life. Seems like more equipment (sport pkg and premium pkg), 45k less miles, clean Carfax, new tires and fresh dealer maintenance etc. should be worth at least the $6,800 difference between these two. Been on Craigslist and eBay for almost 2 months now without a single person to come look at it. I know now I would never get one new, unless on a low lease payment. Think I'm going to keep my G37xs until it's dead because of it.

1. I don't think it's easy to sell a 22k on ebay not even on Craigslist. 10k or less is easier to move.

2. non "X" in a snow state?

3. You can get a new '10 like yours for around 35k + TTL (probably mid 32k + TTL for a '09). Your car is 3 years old. I think you should be able to get 22k at trade in if you buy a new car from them. So, the depreciation is about 13k ( = ~37%) for a 35k car for 3 years = I think it's very good.

Edit: Hmmm, I saw that you purchased a new '09 in Dec. Why didn't you trade in your '07?

G35 KBB value etc.

Yeah I found selling a car on eBay was a complete joke. Topped out at 16k (thank god I had a reserve) - or the same as the original post here for one with 82k miles and less equipment.

KBB Private party book is 23k and it is 42% off of original MSRP so it seems like I should be in the ball park. All I have had is two inquiries from Canada and I don't think I am quite comfortable with selling cross border just yet.

I guess it's not statistically horrible, but it is the among the worst of the 26 cars I have personally owned. For example my last was a 04 Forester XT that was 5 years old that I got back 58% of MSRP with 55k miles and sold in one day. Just been lucky over the years I guess. It's frustrating because the G35 is one of the best cars I have ever had, and many people are not aware of it. I have been asked several times what kind of car is that. When I said Infiniti, I just get a blank non-registering look.

Actually in Western oregon (Portland, Eugene etc) rarely sees snow and when it does it is total chaos and best to stay off the roads anyway. It does rain though. And rain. And then it rains some more. I bought the X just to get up and out of a steep driveway where the VSC on the 35S would go crazy (turning it off was little better) while I had 50mph traffic barring down on me on a blind corner. Scary. Had one close call too many. The X has made a night and day difference in this case.

I bought my X private party in Salt Lake City so trade in was not a option unfortunately. Also those low prices are largely foreign here in the NW. We only have one dealer here in Oregon and they know it. For years they were selling them for $1500 over MSRP and would not budge (They do some now, but no way they would sell a 09 like mine for 32.5k. The next closest dealers are 200 Seattle area, 350 Spokane and 650 Bay area CA miles away.). Never saw anything like it anywhere before, and I refused to buy one for years until I could buy used because it was so ridiculous. Which makes it all the more baffling that I can't get a decent price in this market.

We should be able to get at invoice - incentives here in Philly w/o much negotiation. However, I had to pay invoice + 1k back in 2004 when I bought my '05.

City miles or highway miles? Makes a difference.
