Looking for a G: Have a couple of questions
Hello All!
I am coming from a 2002 Maxima, and its time to upgrade.
I have always wanted to get a G Sedan, and have been a longtime lurker on this forum.
I am looking for 07+ G35 Sedan...
I want a Sport package, but one my friends that has one says to go without it.
He says the "S" makes it too stiff and almost teeth chattering like.
What is your opinion?
What should I expect to pay? I am in NorCal.
I would like one with less then 30k Miles, Premium Package, Nav Package.
Thanks!

Your best bet is to test drive one. The ride quality of the Sport model will be subjective and depends on what the driver has to compare with.
As for opinions, I love the way the S handles and I want it even stiffer so I can chatter more teeth. I had a non-sport G37 coupe as a loaner and it felt too soft for me.

I had an '02 Maxima with Maxspeed/GR2's, FSTB and Addco RSB, on 18s. The G35S in stock form is cushy by comparison. The best part of the G35, however, is the IRS. On sweeping corners, if you hit a bump mid-course, the car stays planted. On the Maxima, that rear-end would always jump out.

I just got my 07 G35S not too long ago and I do not find the "S" teeth chattering at all. Matter of fact, I actually changed my springs to eibach pro-kit to get it lowered and I find the ride to be fine too. I test drove a non S and of course the non S was more comfortable but I don't mind the stiffer ride for extra performance. either way, you can't go wrong with any g35 but I prefer the "S" more. if you want, you can always get the G35 and get suspension mod later if you want more performance. It all depends on what you want. In Nor-cal, expect to pay around 23-25k for what you are looking for. thats the price around Sacramento and bay area. good luck.

The only suspension difference in the S model is the rear shocks are stiffer. Springs and sway bars are the same. The 18" wheels are what makes the ride stiffer.
Get the S model unless you don't like the seats (my problem) or the higher tire replacement cost (staggered sizes). The other stuff -- LSD, quicker steering, paddle shifters -- is worth it.

I think he's setting you up so when you do buy a non S model, he can say his G is better than yours! LOL
