g35x clicking noise

I have a 2007 g35x.. I’ve been noticing an occasional clicking or ticking noise at low speeds. Possibly in the time when I feel the car shift between 1st and 2nd. It doesn't happen all the time, just once in awhile. It sounds like it might be coming from under the dash on the driver’s side or even left of the driver. I can’t tell if it's inside or outside. It's quiet, just several ticks that lasts for less than a second, but I've heard it many times and seems to be getting more frequent.

I can't 'make it happen' so taking it in probably won’t help, unless I can give them some clues. That’s why I'm posting here!

Thanks

Likely the heater core issue. Happens around 3000+ rpm. Seems like some silicone gets in the heater core and creates the noise. There is a TSB on it if you search. The solution is a backflush of the heater core.

How could I confirm if this is the problem?

I tried running my car at 3000-3500 rpm's when it was warm and I did not hear the sound.

I'd like to figure out how to reproduce it so I could show them.

I had the exact same clicking noise coming from my engine bay. It was loud, annoying, and embarrassing. But mine wasn't the heater core; it was the driver belt, which my dealer took care of.

My advice; let the dealer figure out the problem and fix it accordingly.
