Looking to purchase used soon. Best time?
Hey everyone, first off I just wanted to say hi. I've been trying to find a g35 forum that would be the most helpful and somehow I ended up here. Anyways, I'm looking to purchase an used G35 ('07 or '08) within the next couple of months. Looking for
07/08 G35S
White or black
6MT
<60kmiles
I realize I'm severely limiting my options by looking only at MT, but I've been driving MT since I was 16 and 5 years later I still love it. I don't care about the navigation. I guess it's nice to have but I've gotten by with my cellphone just fine.
With that said, my issue has been trying to find one. I've looked at AutoTrader, Carmax, SwapLease, and Craigslist. So far, I've only found one '07 G35S w/ 60k miles that was selling for $20k from a used car dealership. Thinking back, I probably should have jumped on that deal but I didn't want to make a haste decision. I haven't seen a single one since. The market is flooded with the previous gen coupes though. When do you think the market will open up a little bit more? I assume the lack of availability is partially due to the fact most leases haven't ended yet. Though I imagine most of the '07 leases should be coming to an end soon.
Thanks!

I'm located in SoCal. Looking to spend between $15k-$25k. Of course less the better.
I really should have...It wasn't Cerritos Infiniti. It was a small korean owned used dealership right in Downtown LA. Black/Black 6MT G35S w/ 60k miles. Congrats on the G37 though! How much did you pick up the '10 G37 for?

good thing you passed. Get your G from an infiniti dealer that way they can give you a full detail of the car history.
I picked up my G for 29k out the door. got journey auto with prem pkg. I really wanted sport but couldn't pass this offer up. Ill add a used set of brakes and swap pumkin lsd later.

Same question
I was just about to post the same question, except I'll only take black on black. The closest one to me right now is 250mi. way (I'm in Jersey) and looks really worn. There are a two whites and a tan, but that's a no go for me. There's also an '08 but they're way more expensive ( by about $4K ). I guess I'll just have to wait it out. Edmunds says an '07 with around 45K miles should be less than $24K. This sucks cause there were two near me in January, but I wasn't ready to buy then. I read on LifeHacker that April is the best time to buy a used car. I wish it was March, instead .

One thing's for certain about the 07-08 G Sedan is they move really fast. So if or when you see the car you want with a good price, head to the dealer asap. I bought my G 3 days after it arrived at the dealer, while I was still at the dealer 4 differ customers came in to look at the same G. I test drove that puppy, and put a payment down to hold it for me. Smart Decision.

@_RR_ how's the 6MT? I've only test driven an '03 sedan and an '06 coupe with 6MT and an '07 Sedan Sport auto. I read one review where the reviewers thought the 6MT had a terrible clutch feel, but I've read plenty of others that didn't mention it. Did you test any other cars before you made your purchase? I think about a 328i sometimes but I know I'd be missing out on the G's power.
