How OLD are your tires?

I would normally put this in the wheels / tires section, but this section gets more visibility. Be safe and aware folks ...

On our cars the tires can't be too old. I have 26500 on my OEM fronts, they need to be replaced sooner than later (starting to cup). The rears were replaced at 16k and need to be replaced probably within another 6k or so. I love the Bridgestones that come on our cars (I have the 08 sport model), but I hate being limited to certain tires because of the odd sized front tires. I honestly think they do this on purpose to line Bridgestones pockets.

Thanks for the post. I had no idea about the date codes on the tires, now I will be keeping an eye out for every tire that I purchase. Very good information and will hopefully open up some more eyes.

Terrycs, good looking out! I had no idea tires had an expiration date. That was so informative! Just checked my tires and my moms, we are both within 2 years. Thanks again!

You'd be surprised. There are tires sold as new that is within 1 year of their "expiration".
