just filled up a full tank,

my dash read:
MPG 17.6
MPH 27.3
The last full tank was around 325 miles or so.

after I filled up the dash read that I have 335miles before I run out.

I put 16.553gallons at $3.08/gallon~ $50

The dash stated 31mi til empty.

SO that's rougly maybe another 100mi if I'm lucky considering the reserve is 2-3gallons. Which is about right.

Hrp783.....have you ever used any fuel cleaner/ additives? I've heard nothing but horrible things from them but maybe trying a system clean might help, I dont know though. Just my thoughts.

6 gal reserve?
My gauge sometimes moves from 1/4 to 1/2 in a matter of minutes and back down. When I fill up after "---- miles to empty" and driving for about another 20 - 30 miles, I can only put in 14 gallons at the most.

I have taken it to the dealer and they have not found a problem. They said that there is another test they can do but the tank has to be as empty as possible.

yah that happens to me.

So I was talkin to a buddy from Cali, who is a tech for infiniti, as soon as i mentioned the problem, he said, disconnect the neg cable from your batt and wait 5 min, and connect.

he said the car learns the way you drive, and it thinks u will run out faster then it actually will.

so i did and it is performing like normal.

he asked if I drive short trips alot in town.... yah i do.

so try it and see if it works.

i have not had to fill up yet since my last fill up when i posted the info, ill keep you upto date

MY '07 G 35S has the same issues. I believe I read on this site that there is some sort of gauge--I don't remember what kind of gauge-- which reaches into the gas tank. If the tank has less than 3-4 gallons left that gauge may become damaged. So the G warns you when you are coming close to the gauge damage point.
