Thoughts on 2010 and also 07/08 Brake Judder

im driving a loaner today...i agree with the floaty feeling. my 07 has has a very tight feel and i love it. the '10 drives like a lincoln towncar. not sure if this is the case with all of them but i would not have bought the g if my car drove like this one does. I hope they fix that in the years to come so that when i am ready to buy a new car this is not the norm.

I just got out of an 09 loaner and much prefer my 08.
The 3.7 sounds like an suv, it sounds like it works a lot harder.
Part throttle "fun factor" sucked, it's in way too much of a hurry to get in the highest gear possible. It was nice to be at a reasonable RPM on the highway though instead of turning 3k+ at 75mph.

I had a loaner the other day b/c the rear door lock actuator broke (two weeks out of warranty when reported). Anyway, Infiniti was kind enough to cover the $700 cost, and I got a 09 loaner. I thought the steering was too light, and the new plastic around the window switches looked really cheap, but less scratch prone. On the highway I thought it drove nicer with the 7 speed, but around town it shifted way too much.
With regards to the brake judder, I am now about a month out of warranty, and have brake judder, they told me I needed new shields for the front rotors, as they were warped. Am I on the hook for the cost?

Warranty is 4 years or 60k miles, so you should be covered. Also the powertrain warranty is 6 years/70k miles.

My last visit was for this TSB and was my last visit while under warranty as well.
The replaced the front rotors (had already been turned once) but never even touched the rear brakes.
The fronts were 100% of the cause of judder.
Knock on wood, but 4K lated, I'm still good. Maybe it was just a matter of getting those splash sheilds installed.
Time will tell. If these go again, I'll upgrade to 2-Piece Racing Brake rotors.
The dealer was a real PITA while trying to get this work performed under warranty. Every time I went in with warped brakes, they told me that I needed pads for the cost of $350 per axle. I would do the pads myself and then go back for the rotors. This was always okay.
This last time, they told me that they would not warranty my rotors because I had aftermarket pads on. I reminded them of our past agreement but the service manager wouldn't budge.
I then asked, if there has been a TSB out for years, why did you try charging me $350 for pads every time I came in???
They did the work for free and hope to never see me again.

AesonVirus, so the judder came back even after you were using aftermarket pads? I had heard some had success with new OE rotors and just swapping out the pads with the presumption that the OE pads were soft and more likely to transfer pad material onto the rotor. Of course others say the rotors are the main problem.
I did the front rotors/pads also and that eliminated the judder. Backs are likely not the problem.

Nope... In my opinion, it's the rotors.
When they were put on the lathe for turning, they were clearly very badly warped, each and every time.
Warpage is most always caused by the rotors inability to evenly distribute and dissipate heat.
Rotors should certainly not warp every 7-10K. My Acura MDX has 120K on the original rotors.... and they've never even been turned!
I blame it on cheap manufacturing.

I got tired of my Infiniti rotors warping multiple times even after they completed the service bulletin and installed the splash guards, I solved the problem by installing Stoptech slotted rotors and Stoptech pads. I haven't had a problem yet, just hate all the brake dust the Stoptech pads create.

I started waxing my wheels a few years ago. Use a wax that stands up to heat... they actually make wheel wax but something like NXT Tech Wax has held up well for me.
Once waxed, brake dust just hoses off and you just need to reapply the wax every once in a while

+1 on that! The wax does wonders for brake dust. I just put on Hawk HPS pads any they create quite the amount of dust. The wax just makes it so much easier for maintenance.
