Considering powdercoating my m45 sport wheels

Hi, I recently bought some m45 rims used that I haven't put on the car yet. They have some minimal to moderate curb rash. I've decided to either get the fixed or have them refinished to a black color (haven't decided what kind).

I made some quick photoshopped images (not the best quality) of what I'm considering. I was wondering what you think.

Original M45 rims

Powder-coated black with polished lip

All black powder coat

Thanks!

It can look great if done right
Go to post # 8, G35 Sport wheels but you get the idea.

If it was me I would not try to keep the 'lip' a different colour.

Yea there isn't really a 'lip' on the m45. So the effect might not work out. I don't know how well the wheels will look all black on an OB car though. I could try another color. Any suggestions?

I think that makes them look really cheap. I would just powerdercoat them all one color.

Thanks for the suggestion. I added an all black example. Maybe I should try a less glossier black.

Have a look at my black stockers. Had them powder coated for 30$ a wheel.

Thanks! I might go with the powder-coated gunmetal.

IMO keep em stock color or a darker gunmetal, please do not powdercoat them 2 diff colors, they will look like rims you buy from autozone or something from a distance

yea I wasn't gonna color them two colors (though i had an idea of 1 color with polished rim/lip). Don't worry after further consideration (and general consensus from this thread) I'm only gonna do one color. I'm gonna try either a dark gunmetal or a matte black.

Im not really a fan of all black wheels in general, but if you ask me they definitely look better on cars that are not black.

Gotta say I like the look on your OB G w/ the stock silver M45 rims, looks classy and not cheap at all, the other two photos don't do your G justice IMO. The black center caps w/ the stock silver wheels might be a nice contrast though.

You know what? I might just do that. Black center caps and black lug nuts.
