the interior door handles and black surround around the steering wheel have some minor chips in them, from nails and whatever else seems to bang up against them.
well, turned in my car to the dealership the other day and picked up an 09 loaner and noticed that the materials were different, the 09 has a more durable texture to them. this may seem admissible to some, but has anyone swapped these pieces in their 07-08's w/ the 09 pieces? after picking up my car today, i looked at the individual pieces and they seem to be the same shape/size, looks like it would be a direct swap, if one were to somehow get just those pieces.

 

did the 09 have the black interior? To my knowledge this is only an issue with the black interior, not the tan.

 

I got mine replaced at the dealer under warranty. Now if the would just replace the shift ****.

 

Our 07 is wife's daily driver. Have noticed her nails are taking off the black finish in the driver door handle well. Hadn't thought about it being a warr. repair. May try using magic marker to touchup.

 

what did you guys say to the stealership to get it covered under warrenty? Anything TSB for it?

 

Never tried to make a warranty claim on the interior scratching, but after 2 1/2 years of owning my 07 (black interior), there are scatches galore on the driver's door handle and the paint or whatever coating they used is nearly rubbed off, revealing the underlying white.

Doesn't bother me too much but then my car is a lease that will get parked in Dec. If I owned my G I'd be po'd.

Both interior colors have had this issue, dealer should replace handles and steering wheel under warranty. tons on threads on this issue aswell.

 

Thanks for letting me know this is a warranty issue. I'll bring it UP next time I'm in - hopefully our dealers are as generous up here in the great white north. Did they replace the door handles with the 07\08 part or swap it for the 09 part when they did the warranty work? Much thanks.

 

I dont know what parts they put in but I did have to get another alignment when they put the new steering wheel on and it seems smaller than the last one (my cover is all loose now) and I didnt have a problem with my alignment before they messed with it.

 

Mine were replaced with 08/09 and not a scratch. Got it done about 6 months ago. The 2010 looks to have a different texture, I like the 08/09 finish better.
