Do dealers help with squeaking and creaking?
Do dealers help with squeaking and creaking?
I know there are countless threads about the rattling, creaking, and squeaking the interior of the car makes.
My question is when it's brought to the attention of the dealer (under warranty), how do they respond?
I've got a nasty squeaking coming from the dash on the passenger side. I've fixed it by just jamming some gym shorts in between the windshield and the dash, but I'm not really keen on driving around like that.
Anyways, are dealers generally receptive and subsequently helpful about this kind of thing?

I have gone twice to see what they can do about it and all they tell you is that its normal thats theres nothing really that they can do and its funny cuz some of these noises dont happen al the time so its hard to recreate the sound for them.
This is a hard one with dealers. Haven't had an issue with my g35x but my 04 g35 coupe made SO much noise. Real obvious ones they will fix... for example my center console squeaked anytime you touched it (i think they just took it apart and put it back together with some kind of stripping or something) worked great. Other minor squeaks though they "couldn't recreate" and thus had to be drown out with loud music, something they do warranty
On my 05 g35x, the dealer attempted a fix on the first time which didn't seem to do much. I brought it back a few weeks later and they used some type of stripping around the console that was squeaking and I never heard it again. Two visits and they never gave me a problem about attempting to fix it.
My center console is squeaking, but what I find really annoying is the seat squeaking sides rubbing on the console (I am 6'2", 220 lbs). The '09 loaner seemed to have fewer squeaks and the side margins were more padded and did not squeak or give way in a turn like mine do.
