Question Re: Steering Wheel Plastic Trim and Buttons
i tried searching here and on the web but i haven't found any definitive answer yet. i understand that the steering wheel has to come off to replace the volume and cruise control buttons, but the call answer/end buttons embedded in the plastic trim, can the trim just be popped off and transplanted? and by trim i mean the plastic that goes around the entire outer perimeter of the steering wheel center mass.
i haven't been able to find a good picture to reference or answer to that yet. any one have some experience with this? i could just go and try popping my own trim off to find out but i'd rather not if it isn't made to do so.
thanks!

You can take it out the trim. Here's a pic.
Though i find it a bit weird it doesn't connect to the top and bottom part. I'm guessing that part you can not take out . part name is
"SWITCH ASSY-STEERING".
Base part # is 25550-JK10A you can check that out in the infinitipartsusa site going through the part number search at the bottom.

muyrec, thanks for the reply. i was contemplating transplanting a call answer/end button into my base model to make it functional with an aftermarket bluetooth kit or simply add on the OEM bt but it appears from your attachment that it would be physically part of the left hand side of that switch assembly. i'm not overly interested in removing the steering wheel to transplant the entire assembly....i'll have to think about it...
cheers.
