Reading up more on the material, it looks like 3M actually does not recommend removing the vinyl if you have it applied on painted surfaces as it may damage the underlying paint/clear, or leave some of the substrate behind.
I think it will look great, Mike. I say go for it.
Incidentally, here's a pic of my new grille. It's on the car now... just need to take some pics and post them up. Also had my radiator shroud done at the same time.

Don't think so, cause there is not that big of a vinyl available. And if you do it piece by piece it just wouldn't look right + it would be just "ricy" to do something like that lol
Adrian, that looks great!!! Did you wrap that yourself? Looks like you put clear coat on it too.. very nice work!!!
they do make a big enough peice. and if you do it. just make sure you spray a clear coat over it to give it a gloss look and i think it would look awesome
I dont think it will have any effect on your paint when you remove it. Just make sure you use the specific remover for this stuff, and make sure you have enough vinyl because you dont want to be stretching it to a point it doesnt look good.

Incidentally, i just talked to a local graphics shop and they can get a 337.5 sq.ft. sheet of automotive vinyl that's enough to cover the entire car. The roof or hood can be done in single units.
Still reading up on more details.
Do you have an extra front grille? Like I bought the midnight black grille, so I have my factory grille as a spare. If so, just try wrapping the extra grille and see how you like it.
We do removal of very similar black out tapes in the body shop that many manufacturers use on the pillars and in other areas. If will peal right off with the heat gun, if you apply right amount of heat. It can also come right off with the rubber eraser wheel we use, you just have to be very careful not to burn the paint when using it. Well that's what we use at the shop for this kind of sticky stuff.
