2007 g35s vs 2008 g35xs 1/4 differences?

Ok. I'm about to sell my 04 6mt coupe and I'm very interested in the newer sedan. I want to know which is faster. I'm not a fan of the 2007 g35x as it's slower due to it's weight. Is the 2007 g35x 1/4 time the same as the 2008 G35xs? I would get the 2009 G35s but it's so rare! I cant find it anywhere.

I really like the fact that the 2008 has the ipod integration and the 2007 doesn't. And the 2008 will likely have more warranty left since it's younger. Help me out.

There is no power difference between any of these cars.
The X has power to the ground immediately and the S is lighter. In terms of 0-60, they're neck and neck and no one should win out your vote over the other in terms of 0-60 times alone.

Also, don't compare the XS to the X and think the XS is faster or lighter. The XS is nothing more than an X with sport seats, sill, bumper, 18" wheels and paddles.

If you are comparing X's to S's, decide if you want AWD or RWD, and AT or MT, and let that be your decision.

I appreciate the info but that doesnt really answer my question. Do you know the 1/4 time? Judging by what you said I imagine is between .3 and .4 seconds slower than the S model. If there was a simple way for me to have the nice ipod integration of the 2008 in a 2007 I would be set.

I'm looking for paddle shifters, rwd, and ipod integration. It wouldnt be such a big deal if the damn climate control was not built into the screen.

Your best bet would be a 2008 g35s 5AT since 07's don't have ipod integration.

edit: in your original question you're asking about the 07x vs 08xS. If you want ipod integration there's no reason to look for 07's but you already seem to know that that?? As Aeson mentioned, the x and xS are the exact same car with slight cosmetic changes.

Cool. Thanks folks. So no one makes a module that gives the 07 an ipod interface.

You've already answered your own question. RWD = S.
End of story.

For what it's worth, paddles can be installed in any model for $200 and about 30 minutes of your time. Easy install.

Someone here already went through this in another thread.
The end result was that it could be done, but it required the entire center console from an 08 and it needed to be wired in.
don't remember if the head unit needed to be replaced as well. Either way, it was a ton of work for limited payout.

My friend has an 08XS and he not very fond of the limited "integration" that was provided in the 08

Good point. I guess I really didnt care too much about the RWD vs AWD thing. The only reason I opted for the S was for the paddle shifers but I may just start looking for non-S models and add them later. Thanks for that info. Is there a kit or something?
