Anyone else having nav update issues?

So I ordered the long overdue nav update ( still on 'sale' for $99), and brought it into my dealer to get done. I ha complained earlier (when it was $199) about the high cost to purchase/intall, and he graciously agreed to a no-charge install and a 2/3 rebate on the software, which of course is commendable.

But the unit did not accept the code, even after the dealer spent an hour on the phone with both NAVTECH and Infiniti, so that servive call was a bit of a waste.

For attempt number two, it also proved problematic, and now they need to change out the AV control unit (on the advice of Infiniti themselves).

Oh, as a bonus, I would lose my entire music library which took months of CD burning to build up. I doubt I will rebuild it again - what a shame. So much for a 5 minute update. Would also lose all my previous destinations.

I am beginning to think, thanks but no thanks - it a great 'deal' re no-charge install and a token amount for the software, but I am not so sure the one or two more streets is worth losing my music library for which will take months to restore.

Is anyone else having nav update issues??

For those who have the update, was it worth it?

no issues with my update. and was it worth?
99+tax=106
120+tax=128
total 234.

its a hard thing for me to answer. definitely not every year upgrade. the way i look at it is doing one every 3 years or so, makes it a little more bearable, it does change the map a lot and some of the voice options. so i guess its something that i dont regret getting at this time.

what's the 120 fee for?

And I had trouble the first time. They put last year's update on. I came back and they fixed that issue, but took a long time doing it. So, my issues were probably more service related.

What about the update itelf? Any new 'wow' features? Or is it strictly content updates to certain geographic areas - ie I may not notice any difference.... in which case, I'm thinking , why bother if it means, in my case, having to reload my entire CD music library.

Just so nobody else is confused, you typically don't have to lose your entire harddrive. But in your case ThatsMyG, I understand the hesitation. And yes, it was strictly content. A few new roads, a few more points of interest.

wow features deff not, but the nav color screen changed, and also there is a turn street list on top left corner when your getting close and before it wasnt there. and it works a little quicker but maybe thats me. the inside guage cluster was also updated i guess with new symbol for push key to turn on. nothing you need or want but its there.

What;s the most obvious way to tell if the upgrade was done? Getting mine done tomorrow, relunctantly, and want to be able to quickly confirm it was actaully upgraded, especicaly if the changes are fairly subtle

I could not find anything under Settings etc, that told me what version I currently have.
