Sounds like a great find, look forward to your pics.
How do you like it compared to your Bimmer so far?

got it waxed but had too many family obligations to get pics today...I'll add them later this week.

Comparison to the bimmer: the earlier poster was right, the BMW feels like it is always eager to turn...its really strange how it can feel like turning in it is easier but it still feels really stable going straight at high speeds.

However, this car feels like it was carved from one giant hunk of metal...soooo solid and so much power. As for the MT, I don't have a problem with the clutch, I have a problem with first gear. I don't understand its purpose unless they expect you to pull up stumps with it. It is just way too low. I can't imagine why they put a 6 speed in and spaced the gears so closely together and so low in a car that has sooo much power.

Engine is great by the way...love all of the amenities too, nav works well; audio is great--only problem being it is missing the lowest octave. Only Bose could design a 10 inch woofer to only play down to like 50 hz.

Handling--while it doesn't feel as eager to turn as the Bimmer, it feels like a slot car--like no matter what line you take it is locked in. Once I get used to the heavier feel of the turn-in I think it's going to be awesome.

Garnet Ember is beautiful but I'm going to have to get used to being a police magnet again. At one point I noticed radar ahead and slowed--it took me a while to spot him so by the time he came by me I was going 65 in a 70 MPH zone in the right lane and he still zapped me with radar. I could have passed the same guy going 80 in the BMW and he wouldn't have given me a second look.

I'll post pics as soon as I get a chance...she really is a beauty.

Do I hear Beach Bend in your near future? See how well she does in the 1/4 mile?

I'm glad you like it though, I'm sure you wont be disappointed.

It turns out I am not crazy...I love the car. Here are a few pictures of the sweet ride I drove home from Texas last Saturday.

Thanks...it is awesome... It helps that it had less thank 22k on it. You can't tell in the pics but I've had a clear bra installed so hopefully I can keep it looking sweet for a while.

I'm thinking now I'm going to get some Zaino products and start layering them up. A friend of mine has a couple of red cars and I love the way the Zaino stuff makes his look.

Looks good! I would just put a drop on it, take the pin stripe off and maybe paint the headlights. Regardless though, it looks good!

Welcome to the club. Congrats on getting your new ride. Garnet looks sweet.

Before you begin "layering up" the Zaino, you may want to clay and polish first to get the full effect.

I also agree with what That1GuyG35 wrote....take the pinstripe off, unless your attached to it. It's so 70's and doesn't suit the G IMO.

Cheers

I clayed it today and put a little more wax on--I didn't do the whole thing because I am waiting for an order from drcolorchip to touch up some spots before I get serious about polish/wax/etc.

thanks for the kind words...you know I didn't really notice the pin stripe that much but now that you point it out I am thinking of getting rid of it. I got paint protectant film on the front to preserve the bumper but that's the only mod so far.

Im a fairly new g-owner too did you say that was an 07? I have an 07 coupe and the grill, lights, wing and wheels are different. Do you or anyone know if they started to change these things half way through the year or production run?
