Not actually a "G" owner yet but will be soon.
Plan on getting a 07 or 08 X.

I joined to find out if their are any common problems with the 07 or 08's I should be aware of

I did search for a while... only came up with:
Brake judder
Sunroof trim
and plastic scratches easy on the 07s

Anything else unique to the 07 and 08 V36 I should be on the look out for. List above almost seem too good to be true.

Thanks in advance

Paint chipping is an unfortunate thing w/ all Gs (at least for 07 to the current model). If you can find an X that has a clear bra that would be a definate plus. I've only had non-X Gs so I can't really comment on specifics for the X.
07s (I think it applies to the X too) have a rather sensitive throttle tip-in, there is a TSB to "soften" the tip-in, some like the pre-TSB better, some don't.
If your new G hasn't had the TSB and you like the quick tip-in then don't get the TSB since I've heard it can't be reversed. I like the post-TSB tip in since it's a bit easier to drive w/ coffee in your hand form a dead stop

Welcome to 'Driver and good luck with your search.
There will always be some issues, but all in all there are very few things to complain about with the V36.

other things to consider - 08's have nice ipod integration, and the backup camera is part of the nav package.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your search.
Reading through the various posts here, you'll find "minor" issues that some have encountered but for the most part, this has been a fantastic experience for me... no major issues.

Yes, the OEM rotors suck and suck bad. I'm getting them replaced again under warranty but after these, I'll be going with something different.
This is my one real complaint about this car, but it's correctable.

Sunroof trim... eh, 5 minute fix. I've never had any issues with mine.

Some say the interior scratches easily. I don't know what these people are doing though. Ask them and they say that they don't even breathe in their cars, but my interior looks like the day I bought it. Not one single scratch (knock on genuine rosewood trim)

As for the TSB mentions above for throttle response... please drive both before deciding. I hate the 08+ throttle compared to mine.

And yes, I can drink coffee while I drive, although I seldom allow beverages in my car.

Pick up the 08 today. Man its fast.

I'm coming from a Nissan Frontier pickup so the G is just a blast to drive.

Got an 08 X with 26k Miles for $23,782. Think I got a good deal. None of the bells and whistles (no Nav etc.) Only regret is the basic Non-Bose sound system is not so great. But I still love the car.

Congrat's on the new purchase, I came from an Xterra a month or so ago. So I know how you feel. Mine was lifted so I couldn't do much as for speed wise cause of the whole it might flip thing.
