need opinions on this deal

There is a local dealer selling a 2007 G35 Sport Sedan. 6MT. w/Nav and sunroof. Its got about 32,500 on the odo.

The car seems to be in fine shape except for something kinda wacky. I was told the previous owner was some kind of OCD sufferer and would pick at plastic. As a result there is a big amount of plastic picked off the steering wheel. I'm talking about like right around where the buttons are etc. There are also a lot of scratches right where there is a little cubby hole in the driver door. The door part I've seen before from women who have nails but the steering wheel thing is new to me.

They are asking for $23995 or so. Probably could be talked down to $23k. Based on edmunds.com it seems like a fair deal but interestingly enough, most Infinity dealers are selling it for more.

Whatcha think?

scratched parts

The dealer offered to replace the cubby hole plastic. Thats a cheap part. They won't replace the steering wheel as its not cheap and these scratches are pretty much "abuse."

take the deal and replace the cubby cover. you can get a steering wheel for $50 on ebay if you watch closely and just replace it yourself.

cheers!

With sratches that you see all the time I would definately not pay the full asking price.

I just purchased my 2007 G35S Sport Sedan late last month. The pricing and mileage you listed were identical to mine as well. $23K is fair but I would not pay any more than $23,500. You are right either way its a better deal than purchasing from the dealership.

they can drop the price up to 2k or so.

dont worry about the chipping on the steering wheel. thats normal for it to happen.. get it covered under warranty asap and you'll get the new updated material.

get the car and enjoy it.

autocheck it! dont use carfax.
