Replacement CD changer magazine, '08 G35X w/ nav

Hi all,

I've recently purchased my 2008 G35X sedan (with nav, premium) and the cd changer magazine cartridge was missing. Other than going to the dealer (ha) what are my other options? I had no luck finding anything on ebay or via google. Tell me something good!

Thanks for your help - and btw I LOVE the car so far.

Andrew

did you get the car from a dealer? you can just go complain and have them order it for you. thats what i did when i bought my car and the cupholder was missing. otherwise if you haven't seen it on ebay or google then your last bet is going to an infiniti parts website. oh and junkyards.

Use an Ipod instead of the CD's.

There is a reason why that thing is missing. It is in the trunk and in the way. Makes the trunk smaller and less useable. Previous owner deleted it.

Seriously I would just buy a cheap ipod and load it up with music if I were you. I can't remember what was the last time I listend to CD.

Mine was missing as well when i bought the car, i was going to go back and complain, but after i figured out how much better the hard drive was than a blast from the past cd changer in the trunk i didnt even bother. Im not even sure if i would use it if i had the cartridge.

I do have an ipod and I have been using that interface, but I hate when things are not complete in the car. I got the car from a dealer off a 2 year lease for a very reasonable price. When I pointed out that both were missing we went on ebay and we found the cable (which he bought for me) but could not find the cd changer cartridge. I guess I'll keep looking around, as it's not really a necessity, but a nice to have item to complete everything in the car.

As for the comment about 'taking up space' - The cd changer is always going to be there, so might as well have the cartridge and make it functional if it's going to be there.

This was exactly my thought. It was not my intention with this post to start a debate between ipod vs. hard drive vs. cd changer, heh. There is a good chance I may not use the changer very often, but I want the car to be completely functional.

I doubt you'll use the cd changer much either, I have yet to. I do understand wanting to have a "complete" car, especially when it comes time to sell it. Did you purchase this from an Infiniti dealer? If so, I would have had them replace it first. Not sure how much it'd cost to order it through the dealer, but that might be your only choice.

Bought it from a private dealer locally, so not sure how much 'pull' I would have considering I showed him the items that were missing when I picked up the car. I purchased at for cheap enough that I would feel bad complaining anyhow, especially since he already bought and sent the ipod cable to me. Oh well, I guess it's off to the dealer for a quote. *ouch*
