New Member Lexus GS400 to 2008 G35xS

Hey guys,

As a former Lexus GS400 owner, I just purchased this Black Beauty, and let me just say that I am enjoying my new ride.

I do miss the Lexus as it was nearly perfect for 6 years. I am hoping for the same from this Infiniti.

My GF has a 2005 G35X so I am very familliar with the G cars.

Pros:
Smaller than my Lexus so great handling and very nimble.
18's give a pretty good ride.
AWD !! Great for Colorado.
S package is great for the Paddle shifters and the adjustable seat is sweet.
Love the wheels and the Styling of this G
Loving the Bluetooth, Back up Camera, Nav, Ipod Integration, Music Box ect.
The Tech toys are fun on this car.

Cons:
Stereo is not up to the Lexus benchmark. I even had the base pioneer unit in the GS400. Oh well maybe they can get it right in the next gen.
Interior Materials are not quite as good. (Everyone has mentioned things are easily scratched.) I agree.
Paint looks pretty, but it also seems pretty fragile.
Gas Mileage is kinda so so.. I know, I know its been beaten to death.

So after researching there are only a few suspension things I can do to this AWD car right?

1) GTSPEC STB
2) Maybe the GTSPEC Rear lower brace near exhaust.
3) Rear Sway off of the sport model or the Stillen Rear Sway.

If I am missing anything let me know.

My next step however is to add 5% tint, and clear bra the entire car due to the weak paint.

Sorry for the Dealer advert, but I have not had time to clean up the car and stealth it out....

sweet ride!
do you get the sport brakes with the S package?

suspension wise, you can get lowering spring, coils (not too many options for the AWD though) and some sways and braces. I'm pretty sure there's more braces that fit your car than you mentioned.

I have been trying to figure out the Brake?

I think the answer is no, but the Sales guy claims it comes with different calipers. Same Rotors, but different calipers.

I think not though.

it's either different front calipers and rotors or not. Take a pic of the front calipers and we'll see.

I'm not talking about the Akebono, i'm talking about the single piston sport brakes. the car is a G35 so it obviously won't come with the Akebono even if it was a 6MT because they weren't on the sedan till 2009 when the G37 sedan came out.

And here is a G37x that is in my work parking lot. Not sure what year. Its not an S package.

They look pretty much the same to me. 2 piston it appears.

depends on pads ^

the akebono's are much better when it comes to fade, rotor warping, etc. they just handle heat and abuse better.

BTW, your brakes are non-sport, 2 piston front, 1 rear. Sport brakes are 1 piston front and 1 rear. Akebono brakes are 4 piston front and 2 rear.
