Post-divorce G35 purchase

Hey everyone!

The last time I visited this forum was five years ago. That was when I owned a 2003 G35. Then my marriage went bad and I had to sell my baby. Anyways, I just remarried and my wife has given me the go-ahead to get a G35! So I think I can probably afford a 2007 or 08 G35. I'd like to get an "x" with premium package. What should I expect to pay? What are some things I should look for that have been common problems with either of these years? Any TSBs I should be aware of?

Thanks everyone! I'm looking forward to getting back on the forum.

Michael

TSBs:
1. Brake judder (rotors prematurely warp)
2. Acceleration pedal ("touchy acceleration" some like it some don't)
3. Door seals (wind noise)

I know right?! Its really bad if you hit a big hump mid intersection and it makes you blip the gas a little too much.

Combine the touchy gas pedal with the touchy clutch and the 6MT's a whole bunch of fun to drive

well, my car started to rattle (i guess it's just mine). I'm going to get it fixed next week. The brake problem will be fixed by the dealer for free. If you're getting XS, try to get the stock dunlops replaced, they're horrible. G35 is a wonderful car overall, good luck with your purchase

- the 07 also has easily scratched interior door trim (the switch bezel) and steering wheel trim (fixed for 08)
- the 07 chrome grill is easily chipped. (fixed for 08)
- some have had problems with sunroof shade rattles as well and the rubber
Both may be replaced by your dealer if you are one of the fortunate who has a good dealer in your area.

Thanks for the informative feedback! I can see nothing has changed on this forum. Just as helpful now as you were back when I first joined. I'm relying heavily on Carfax to determine the history of the cars I'm considering. Will TSB fixes show up on a Carfax?

Sounds like I should try to get an 08 if possible. All things equal, how much more should I expect to pay for an 08 over an 07?

Thanks!

If it's and 08 G35 with similar miles you should be within a few K but if it's an 08 G37 that's going to be different
