My perfect condition 07 with less than 25k miles and flawless paint is now wrecked. Sitting at a red light on a sunny, dry morning with another car in the lane beside me and she said she didn't see me in time to stop! She had to be texting...hit me at about 40 MPH.

It doesn't look that bad in the first pic but you can see the damage in the second one.

estimate was at 9000 last time I talked to the body shop...not nearly enough to total it unfortunately...

It was only me in the car and I am still hurting but the doctors don't believe I have any permanent injury...

The girl that hit me has that "we make you legal for less" type of insurance so she only has 10k property damage coverage so my insurance had to take over and get the money from her insurance and cover the rest themselves...

Holy ****... that sucks.
I read the title and was gonna come in here and tell you not to feel bad.
I was rear ended by a crack ***** a little more than a year ago (Meth lab was closing soon, had to cash her welfare check, not really her fault)
Luckily, the damage was minor... only needed a new cover and a few brackets and what-nots.

This is bad though. That's a whole lot of damage there. Sorry dude.
At least you weren't hurt.

Wow, that really sucks. So sorry to hear about this. I would be super pi$$ed...I spent a lot of time looking for a pristine car.

Best of luck with the fix. Make sure it goes to a body shop that you trust and have seen other cars they have repaired.

At least you didnt get hurt!

thanks all for the kind words....nice to read them from those who truly understand...

They are working on her now--have pulled out the floor pan and should start cutting off stuff Friday and putting new stuff on next week.

And I am in Bowling Green--home of the Corvette.

Yup!

I hate to say it, but regulating cell phone use while driving is something that the gov should be doing. People just aren't smart enough to realize how dangerous texting while driving is.

Sorry about your car man, glad you weren't hurt.
