Almost all phones have some sort of GPS in them now. I say that texting is disabled when the phone see's that it's moving more than a few miles an hour.
Sorta like how our navi systems lock us out once the car is moving.
I get so mad when I see someone behind me, while in traffic, fvcking with their phone or reading a paper. I'm just waiting for them to f up and tap my rear bumper so I can jump out the car jam the phone down their neck..... not that I have any stong feelings on the matter.

Let's not start blaming every accident on texting. The OP don't even know if she was texting, he just assumed because she didn't see his bright a$$ red car. Not that I agree with texting but it seems like every accident now people say the other person had been texting.
Sheit haven't any of you here not see a car while driving and you weren't on your phone? We're distracted for thousands of different reason, some may just be a state of mind.
Anywayz hope your car gets back to new. I had a 2000 Mazda 626 ES that got rearended by a 1994 F-150 with worst damage than yours, in Oct 2000. Cost $9000 in damages and the frame wasn't bent not did the Rear window get broken, so go figure. There was no physical evidence that my car had been in an accident until you opened the rear door you could see on spot of oversprayed Clearcoat bubble. GL
BTW I had purchased that car brand new in Feb 2000, so only 8 months later
