2004x Sedan Rims on 2008x Sedan?? Good or Bad Idea for Winter??

Just curious if anyone else out there has some experience with this set up. I have an 08xS w/ the 18" sport rims and am looking for a winter set of wheels/tires. Found someone local that has a very nice set of OEM 2004 G35x Sedan rims/Blizzaks for cheap. I know the bolt pattern fits and offset will clear my calipers but wondering how the car will feel/drive going to a 215/55/17. I know base OEM is 225/55/17 and rim is 17x7.5 vs. 17x7. I also know a narrower tire is better in snow vs. wider. Thanks for the input! With over 100" of snow a year on avg. I don't want all-seasons on 18's.

It will work. I mounted my base 17" rim on our 08 X sport one winter for better snow traction. They fit, and actually worked pretty well.

Thanks for the quick response. You still have your 08x?
