hey guys, i am new to using my ipod with the 2008 g35. i can play music fine, but when i want to search by an artist, i noticed that you have to go through ALL the artists alphabetically using the center console turning ****? is there a way to pick a specific artist OR speed up the scrolling process so i can pick an artist or a song faster? i hve 300+ different artists on my ipod, and to get to one who's name starts with a "P" would take me a looooong time starting from A.

As far as I know, there is no quicker way to scroll a particular parameter. Until someone informs me otherwise, what I've been doing is searching first by genre, since that narrows it down quite a bit. Unfortunately, I'm very specific with my genres (rock, classic rock, hard rock), so even this causes frustration at times. I think I'm gonna reorganize the iPod so this (genre searching) will be quicker.

I really wish they'd had some sort of quick search mode though

I've been thinking about this problem also with my '08. Best thing i can come up with is possibly 2 or 3 different PLAYLISTS, Playlist 1 = A-K, Playlist 2= L-S, Playlist 3= T-Z ....
or something like that. easier that what you described scrolling for 3 minutes to ZZ Top...
then again, not sure if the artist will even show inside a playlist, possibly just the songs.

someone on here told me to make the genre of the artist the first letter of their name so, in theory, when you go to genre you will have A-Z. So you are narrowing it down to 26 clicks. try it out if you dont mind sacrificing you genre option and some time

guys, im way behind any of you: i've been navigating for music through the ipod itself! how do i connect it so that i can use the steering/in-dash controls to run the ipod? i have an ipod nano and i have connected it to the a/v in the center console via a conventional belkin ipod cable. it sounds great but just that its pure frustration that i cant run it using the vehicle controls. thanks!!

I am still convinced that the a$$holes who designed this car never owned an ipod... There's no way someone would make such a crappy interface for a driver to handle....
