Free wiper blade replacement?

There is a service bulletin out for replacement of the wiper blades on 07-08 G35s for any reason. Anyone done this at the dealer?

Wiper Refill replacement

This is just the 'procedure' document for the dealers or anyone replacing their own inserts.

Inserts list at $7.48 ea (For 2007-2011 G Sedans - Drivers side part# 28895-CB08C and Passengers side 28895-JK61A). You can find online for about $5.65 ea but with shipping, about the same as paying list at the dealer. The OEM wiper assembly is made by Mitsuba. Although a standard J-hook connection, it has an offset that you cannot find in aftermarket blades. The difference is minor but the OEM with the offset provides the best coverage.

I'll done the insert changes approx 3 times and it's very easy. Maybe 5 minutes per blade. A much better deal than swapping the entire beam wiper for a Rain-X etc and you maintain the true OEM look. I've had the inserts last approximately a year here in Western NY. A solid online source is:
www.nissanpartszone.com (although most recently they had to order more)

Aren't the service bulletins meant to inform the dealers about defects and what to do about those defects?

Had Rain X installed for few days, didn't make full contact 100%, even tried bending it alittle, didn't help and the offset looked different. Got the Mitsuba refills from Infiniti parts for $7.50 each. As klossfam said, installation was easy. Used a plier take old out and new one slides right in. Contact on glass with the OEM wipers are much better.

Normally, yes...a TSB is for something that is a known problem and is usually 'covered' i.e. front rotors warping around 30,000 miles. The dealer can still inspect the issue and deny if the problem doesn't really match up with the TSB.

Pretty sure you'd have a hard time getting a free wiper insert replacement unless they ripped or deteriorated within a year or so of install (or if the dealer just wants charge backs to Nissan/Infiniti).

Something tells me that it would be very difficult to get a dealer to apply a TSB to an obvious wear-and-tear item like wiper blade inserts unless there was a defect in the blade/insert. With OEM rotors being poor and warping without a backing plate, one can understand... but I found no obvious problems with our wiper blades.

klossfam, great find re. nissanpartszone and thank you for the part numbers. I really like the OEM wiper blade replacement but not getting raped by my dealership every time I buy a set (set of drivers' and passenger side inserts are $24 after taxes, which is a ridiculous upmark). I go through 2 sets every year, despite my best efforts to keep them clean. Even with the shipping factored in, I paid less for 4 passenger/driver sets than I normally would pay for 2 at the dealer.

Wiper blade parts #

Does anyone know the parts # for wiper blades themselves (not the inserts)? It's for a 2008 sedan.

I recently bought some OEM online and was shipped the wrong ones. For the 2008, the U clip is offset from the wiper arm.

Thanks.

I think I got the parts number after searching another forum. I'm replicating it here for future reference:

http://forums.nicoclub.com/2007-seda...s-t402800.html

"The Dealer charges $33-$40 for a new set of blades. Part Numbers 28890-JK600 and 28890-JK610. Or, if you feel like saving money, and it seems you do... buy just the wiper refills. They slide in like 3 year old fingers into a snotty nostril. Part Numbers 28895-CB08C and 28895-JK61A. The refills are just $15."
