Water drip passenger side, HELP!!!!!!

I started my 07' G35X tonight and i noticed that drops of water began dripping from my passenger side, about a foot below the glove box where I have an LED light installed drilled into the bottom of my dash, right near where someones feet would be. The water stopped dripping shortly after I began driving.

Some background info: I have these stupid LED's installed down below the dash on both passenger and driver side, there is one LED on each side. I'd say the light is mounted about 1.5 feet below the steering wheel and about a foot below the glovebox. The previous owner installed these lights, there is one small LED light, mounted in the plastic and pointing downwards so light shines on your feet. At first it seems like a good mod since I always drop things onto the carpet (cell phone, keys), but when i started my car the other night, i saw water dripping from the led light hole on the passenger side. WHAT THE HELL CAN THIS BE? I dont know where to begin to diagnose the problem because I read it can be a clogged A/C line, or a hole in the firewall that someone might have drilled to install these LED lights. I saw about 20-30 drops and then the water stopped. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out, it only happened once and its driving me crazy. Oh one more thing, The water did not start dripping until i started the car. Thanks guys.

If it starts dripping only after starting the car even on a dry day then it has to be something with the AC, or maybe while installing the leds the guy drilled a hole somewhere into the ac ducts causeing water due to condensation though i dont remember any in that area.

there is no need to drill the firewall to install the leds so that should not be the case, on the other hand if so or if the previous owner had some subs installed, he might have cut the rubber cover under the battery cover on the passenger side to route wires, but this would only cause a leak on a wet rainy day...

lastly could be that the windshield was replaced and the seal is not perfect(have heard of this from someone on this forum), then again this would cause a leak only on a wet day.

hope this helps a bit

Yeah it is not really clear if it happenes only on rainy days or dry days too. If it happens on dry days also than you might just have a nightmare started. I would dfintly get to the source of it. Start looking at the holes he drilled. You should be able to se if it is comming from there exactly or not.

Good Luck

It rained the day before, then I started the car around 8PM the night AFTER it rained. I'll try to diagnose later today and give an update. Very weird, I drove the car for over a month and did not have any water drips. Ugh I hope this was a one time thing/easy fix, this will def test my patience.

ok in this case it might be some water that puddled up in one of the openings and once the car moved it dripped down through the access hole of the leds, just check the rubber under battery cover on pass. side i think that might be the issue, else it could be the windshield seal that you can check both points by pouring water on the lower passenger side of the windshield and the rubber and see if it leaks in.
