Accident right before Thanksgiving

So I was driving on an interstate coming home from work on Wednesday afternoon, when I saw an Explorer start to spin about 3 cars in front of me. I pull of to the side of the road and come to a complete stop when the driver of the Explorer decides to ignore the brake pedal and steering wheel and is heading straight for me. I blast the horn and bam. She hits me head on, mainly passenger side. Anyway my front bumper is gone, so is the passenger head light, possibly the passenger fender, the windshield washer container, and now my transmission is shifting funny. That is all that I can tell right now, but I will be taking the car to the dealer to get it checked out and get an estimate. It just pisses me off that some drivers are so out of it after a scare that they completely loose their ability to keep their foot on the brake instead of an accelerator.

quick clarification...she was three cars in front of you, you stopped, and she hit you head on? how's that work...I'm confused.

I have some headaches and am a bit sore but otherwise, I'm just glad that my daughter was not in the car with me.
As for the clarification on the accident: She was 3 cars in front of me, I noticed that the car was spinning, it was wet and misty. She ended up facing the opposite direction, as in against the traffic, and was accelerating straight for me. I hope that this clarifies things a bit.

Yeah, I could not believe it either, if it did not happen to me I would have a hard time believing it myself. All she was doing was looking at the passenger and being completely oblivious to what was going on.

Since I hate to drive cars that have been involved in an accident, I may be shopping for a new car soon. I may step up to the M, or go with the 6MT.

^ sorry to hear this and also hope ur fine, i also agree on the fact that its almost impossible to get an accident car back to what it used to be especially when there are some mechanical or electrical issues. Hope it all turns out good for you and you dont end up loosing too much on the trade or new buy.
