2007 Infinit G35X Sedan horsepower gain mods?

Hi I'm new to this forum. I bought a 2007 Infiniti G35x a couple months ago and I would like to gain some more horsepower but am looking to do it in stages. I have money but would like to do this as cheaply as possible. So I'm looking for opinions on modifications from fellow members. I have seen plenum spacers, catback exhausts, air intakes and etc that claim to gain horsepower. I'm looking for advise on what is my biggest horsepower gain for my buck? I would also like to make the car sound throatier if you know what I mean. This will be my first purchase and then whatever is the second biggest gain would be my second purchase and so on. I live in NY any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Joe

for a 2nd gen G dont bother with the spacer

your best way to go is probably a cat back exhaust system with HFC for sound and power.

i m not going to suggest you which one you should get because everyone has their own opinions

hope this helps

^whs get a catback for some decent gains and clean deep sound and add HFC is u want a much louder sound(might have rasp depending on which one u buy so search first) and more power gain.

Thanks

Thanks for the advice so far... What do you guys think of this catback? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT. I know its cheap but will it give me a nice sound and a horsepower gain? I don't want it to sound like a tin can... Why would I not bother installing the plenum spacer in a 2nd gen G35X? Will it not increase my horsepower? Any more advice would be great... Thanks

Because there is none. Plus it has been proven that our stock intakes are designed to pull the most HP.

Most intakes decrease your HP unless you go CAI...

plenum spacer.. only for older models
intake- sound only, not power (except with tune)
exhaust- don't buy the one you linked.. generic ones suck and your not going to get anything that sounds nice or gives you anything good for less then 1000

Your prob gonna be disappointed if you expecting any real gains from bolt ons.

go forced induction if your not satisfied with stock power. won't be cheap though.

^^^ but also i heard that plenum spacer would be good. I heard 5/16 is the best. I never heard one on the 2nd gens though but i heard for our cars that the 1st 2 cylinders is being rob by air and that that 5/16 will help give more air and power for our cars.

Funny you'd say that. I don't doubt it, it's just that on my 04G Sedan I didn't see any real benefit of changing the intake either, yet many did including myself. The design of it led me to believe this.

Godspeed catback?

Does anyone know if Godspeed makes a dual catback exhaust that will fit my 2007 G35x awd Sedan? What do you guys think of Godspeed catbacks? Thanks

If you live in NY, and looking for intake I would get the Injen SRI (Short Ram Intake). Why SRI, well I know you get a lot of inclement weather up there, don't want to suck in any water. I live in MD, so we get the occasional snow and a lot of rain so I picked up the SRI's a few months back for my 08 g35x and LOVE the sound.

Also just installed Fast Intentions exhaust this weekend, couldn't be any happier with the sound. Low drone, if any, and a mean deep sound when combined with the Injen intake. If you get quality parts your gonna get quality sound/performance. If you have the money don't go generic.
