The new AMG motors are N/A, 6.1 or 6.2L (forget exactly). Older motors were V8 S/C.

The upcoming ones are V8 TT.

The GTR is a TT V6 at 3.7 or 3.8 liters right? Putting out 480hp.

Per Car and Driver..
493 horsepower at 6100 rpm, 516 pound-feet of torque manifesting itself along a wonderfully flat curve from 2650 to 4500 rpm. It's the most potent Benz ever offered in North America, according to the manufacturer, and also the quickest factory Benz we've ever tested: 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds, 0 to 100 in 10.9, the quarter-mile in 13 seconds flat at 110 mph.

Its amazing.. Its not just about the #'s it has the SEXYEST exhaust i have ever heard.... unbelieveable V8 burble

The current NA 5.6 liter v8 in the M56 is 420hp and 400 ft llbs of torque. Really don't think another 73 hp is going to be that difficult with boost right?

The GTR motor is a TT V6 and it's at 485 hp.

IMHO, not worth the trouble of swapping out to another maker's powertrains.

Oh i am with you bro... Put the GTR engine in other cars... that would be the best idea....

But I am guessing that wont happen.

Well it may not be that much trouble or cost if they have a partnership. It would just be setting up the transmissions.

I think most of us would rather see a 4 door gtr, then to see nissan start using amg engines as wicked as they may be.

^ same here. the gtr is cool for what it is but i can't see myself in one; just too "loud" for me. now, drop that engine and technology into a sedan, i'll be on that waiting list for sure.

Not that I could afford one, but that would finally shut all those CTS-V fanboys up.

I dont like this idea at all. Nissan could put a TT on their engines in a jiffy lol and make it better and more reliable.

Some answers:

AMG 55's are actually 5.4 v8 with a clutch supercharger.

The GTR is a 3.8 TT and I dont believe it has VVEL. I think its a vr38dett.

Also Im pretty sure the Mclaren F1 has a BMW M 6.0 v12 not an AMG?
