dealership price quote

Hey guys,
So today, i stopped by my local Infiniti dealership (hyatt infiniti) to get a few small parts. I was talking to a salesman while checking out the new 2010s. I ask him how much would my car (2007 G35S auto, with stillen exhaust) worth if i traded it in and he quoted my mid to high teens. i was shocked, i got the car in august for 25g and my resale value is that low? What do you guys think?
(the prices are in canadian)

depends on the mileage and condition, but that seems like bs, however when trading in you should always expect to get much less than selling it to a 3rd party. Spend the time and sell it outside if you really have to.

/\ Exactly...

If you struggled with them you may get close to 20 but the problem is look at what they are selling the 2007's at these days. Here its about 20-24. So figure they are trying to get a margin there. back off 5-8k...

But yeah it depends on your mileage and your options.

i have tech package, but the salesman was just ball parking, he didn't even taken a look at the car, just a glimpse through the windows. he didn't ask for the mileage or the options. the Gs in my area at the same year goes for around 22-27 and most of them are G35X since it snows really badly here. the dealership has a few X selling for 25g but they got 20k(km) more than my car.
by no means am i planning on selling my car right now, i was just asking for fun and kind of shocked

That's good to hear. But dealers are always trying to make money. It sucks how you can sell your car back to the dealers for 25k, and they turn it around to sell if for 30k.

HAHAH, I planning to do a front end convention. Not soon, maybe in 2 to 4 years.

'07s w/ 58k miles, nav/tech/prem. Local dealership offered $21k for it just two weeks ago. I think you can do better.

hey guys, do keep in mind that cars in Canada are usually more expensive than US.
i don't know how much a 2010 G37XS is in US but here they sell at around $53000+taxes.
For what it's worth, my car does have about the equivalent of 43500 miles.

^ not at all. I just need more hauling room but still stay outside of SUV realm and keeping things fun. Been looking at hatches and wagons for the most part. I'm not looking at a Toyota though, i just happened to be there and figured i'd check out what they would offer.

Most dealerships, but Hyatt in particular, don't want your trade unless they can steal it. And they still won't deal on the new car.
