The burden of proof is on the people with the new gadget to show it actually does anything besides inspire visual happiness.

Maybe the same people who are claiming a huge HP boost by slapping in a new K&N air filter to replace their stock one, or saying a certain synthetic oil makes their car so much faster are saying this makes a huge improvement as well.
For an excellent thread debating the merits of the grounding kit look here:

Just finished installing the kit.
The same issue occurred to me, with the passenger side intake wire being not long enough, the bolt size that you would need is a M8 thread by 11 length, it's available at my local home depot.
As for the size issue with the wire that need to be relocated. first lift up the bent part that is used to secure the two terminal rings together, this will separate the two rings apart for easier cutting. after, use a side cutter and cut apart the ring, than split the cut open to make way for the bigger bolt.

Something that i had to call Sean about was to ask where the last wire (wire 7) led to under the brake cover. it turns out that there is another ground point that is on the side of the fender in a position that is quite hard to see, taking off the plastic surrounds would help in easily accessing the bolt. (stand on the side of the car, and bent over and look back at the fender from the inside, it's positioned quite high)

As for the common argument of it's usefulness, i can experience a difference in shift smoothness (I do have a 07 G35S auto), especially in DS mode while pinning the throttle and letting it rev to redline, there use to be a delay in shift, it will wait a second or two before it goes into the next gear, with this kit, the delay is now completely gone (although more tests need to be done, i have only done 2 runs so far). But i do notice that it now downshifts a bit more often even in D mode, such as when i'm going down a hill and just breaking slightly to not go over the speed limit, the car use to remain in the same gear, but now it will actually down shifts with the grounding kit.

also there is a noticeable improvement in throttle response, the pedal itself is a bit more sensitive and there is less lag.

I do need more time with it considering I just finished the install today with about 3 hr of driving so far. I will post more if i find anything new.
