SxExCx Grounding Kit Review

I ordered my Grounding Kit from Sean last Friday (Dec 3) He shipped it Monday and it came yesterday (Dec 8). He replied to my emails quickly and with a tone of info, hes was even flexible on the price! I ordered the black set for my sedan, here is what it looks like out of the box.

It comes with all the cables in the correct length, multiple zip ties, and a nut for attaching the first cable to the negative on the battery.

Overall great quality stuff. Sean sends you a picture showing you how to install everything after you receive the package. Every thing was correct in the image except for 1 minor thing.. We will get into that in a second.

Here are some installed pics..

Here is where the issue was, If you can see on the face where there is that green headed bolt, that's where the stock ground was for that location. In the picture, It showed the stock ground and grounding kit leads going to where they are in my 2 pictures below. The issue was that if I tried to run all of them to the stock location, cable 3, the one going to the left intake would not reach. And if I went to where it is now, The bolt I had to use was too big for the terminals on all the wires. So I found a bolt that was the correct thread for the pictured grounding spot, cut it to fit, and was prepared to drill out all of the terminals in that location to make them work. But, just to make sure, I called Sean to get his opinion, he was extremely helpful and gave me the idea to snip each terminal with Diags to spread them out a bit.. It was easier than my idea and took about 2 minutes. After that It was all smooth sailing. So, I hope he starts to include that needed bolt, but besides that it went Great!!!!

The whole installation took about 1 hour including the call to Sean and a few minutes cursing out loud after thinking I lost a screwdriver. The product is top notch and the service was amazing. I took a quick 10 minute drive after installing it and was extremely surprised at just how much it did! Not only did it take away the delay in TIP shift, it also got rid of another issue. Sometimes when Im in D or DS, and im really getting on the gas, it will rev to red line and stay there until I wait a few seconds or back of the gas a bit and then get back on it. This kit made the process of switching gears much smoother and took away this issue!!!! I highly recommend this product.. If you have a 5AT... BUY IT NOW!!!!

SWEET! I am happy to see that it worked out well. As most folks on here know, the V35 platform is my specialty but I am excited to be expanding my offerings into the V36 market.

Thanks again for enjoying my product!

It is 8. Why are you so concerned with the wire size?

Even 8 is too big to serve this purpose but nobody would buy a kit if is looked wimpy. Most companies prey on this idea and make giant kits that dont do the job any better.

Looks good! Do you mind my asking how much it cost shipped? I am considering making the wiring myself, but don't mind buying if the price is right.

I stuck an inductive ground meter on the negative battery cable and measured .6 ohm on the wire. This means there is *very* low resistance in that wire, so can someone please explain how these types of kits make any difference? Furthermore, I can scarcely measure any voltage drop from various points like the engine block or throttle bodies to the battery negative (again meaning that there is low resistance in the existing wiring).

In the worst case they could even induce ground loops if not properly designed and installed.

I'm not trying to disparage these kits or their manufacturers, but I would like to know the thought process.

Thanks
Sunil
