I just added the R2C intake mod this past weekend. Great mod. During the install I noticed that I needed to hook the breather hose back up to the intake. I was wondering what would happen if i just installed a breather filter to the intake on the engine and capped the intake sides? We used to do this on high performance vws and as long as the oil didnt climb up during acceration or other factors it was fine.Thoughts? Of course the vw is not as high end as my G so I may be missing something.

the "intake" to the engine crankcase is actually an outlet. the intake vacuum from the R2C sucks the crank fumes and smoke from the engine and burns them.

don't change it. performance gains would be unnoticable and you'll have a stinky, greasy engine compartment and probably throw CEL codes.

i wouldnt mess with it to be honest ...

like ampsucker said the gains would be unnoticeable and the smell alone is not worth it, i did that on my last car and actually got a fix-it ticket upon state police inspection cause it is illegal (something i didnt know at that time)
