differential and transfer case oil clarification
Ok as far as I know, a 2nd generation 2008 g35x has both differential oil AND transfer case oil, but someone today told me that the x only comes with a transfer oil because its Awd... and there's no differential oil to replace. He basically said a differential is found only in red cars. I am 90% sure this person is wrong, but can anyone verify this?

wow... he's wrong, i dont understand why people claim stuff that they are not certain about. AWD sends power to all 4 wheels when needed so there HAS to be a rear differential to get that power to the wheels plus the transfer case... Anyways you need to service both transfer case and rear differential.

I did mine today at 31k.... I read somewhere its fine to go longer, but I also read that due to the breaking in of the components, the fluids in the car will have metal shavings and its good to flush at 30k first, then 45-60k after that.
My old car died on me cause I never took care of it, so I am paranoid about this one.

Agreed with RedBaronK, although, I'd say stick with the recommended service interval throughout the life of your car.
You may "waste" a little more $ doing fluid changes more often than not, but I, for one, have never had an issue with reliability due to maintenance ("knock on wood").
I've owned several Chevy, Jeep, Mazda, Audi, Nissan and now, Infiniti vehicles. I use top quality, name brand components/fluids and synthetic whenever possible (not always manufacturer approved/recommended) and changed at the lowest manufacturer service schedule; at about 3-4k for oil and usually every 30K for diff/tranny. I'm not a "racer" by any means, but definitely don't baby my vehicles and like to enjoy driving them for whatever they were designed (or built aftermarket, be it off-road or street/track). Since following this mentality, no matter the make, nor quite frankly the name brand component/fluid, as long as the service is done more frequently (within reason) I have not had any issues...even with vehicles over 150K miles and two (Jeep) over the 200-250k mile mark.
