Not sure if this is Media Share or Tech/Exhaust, so mods kindly move to where you think it belongs. Thanks

As some of you know, i painted the cans on the Invidia. What do you guys think?

And oh, got a dyno right after it was installed, too -- blue was with just the Injen SRI from a few months back, red with both SRI and Invidia. The dyno tripped at 6.5k with the SRI-only run and explains why that dyno run shut off at that rpm. Make of the results what you want.

17.58 on average, one of the runs showed a 20whp gain.
10.29 lb./ft.

Video of the three runs post-CBE, along with a quick sound clip off the dyno.

On the dyno, i don't have the AFR sheet, but it was within safe levels. However, i can see how a tune would really benefit the set-up.

Initial impressions:
  • From 50 through 80mph there is absolutely no drone. If there is, it's no louder than tire/wind noise. I did a before/after audio capture, but you can't even hear the difference on the file, so i won't even bother posting it.
  • From a stop, partial throttle, you do hear the exhaust. Nothing bad, however. It's audible but not obnoxious
  • From 40 to 50 there is a very slight "sound". I wouldn't call it drone, but you do hear it when on the gas. Let off and cruise along, it goes away.
  • At WOT, honestly, i think the Injen's are much louder
  • There was a slight issue with centering the cans, it was addressed by bending one of the hangers and using washers
  • *edit* fixed the rattle issue, the heatshield above the resonators was very close, i bent it up slightly and voila! fixed.

I would imagine it would be the heat shields clanking against something else maybe. How much did you pay for your dyno runs, if you don't mind me asking.

Wait a minute. A cat-back alone gives you 20whp? :O

Injen + Invidia gave the 20 gain.

Mike, is that a diffuser or did you PD it? (don't recall).

Liking the painted look, blends in perfectly with your diffuser. Might have to do this with my ARK exhaust when I get around to installing it.

Looks great Mike - i really like the painted mufflers!! Exhaust is super shiny - good luck keeping it that way You'll have to get the kiddos under there witha sponge!

And that is a pretty nice gain in HP as well!! Awesome!!

- ever considered blacking out or body color painting the chrome part on the trunk?

That's a great idea. I don't like when you can see the shiny aftermarket mufflers all blinged out under the car from behind. I like your wheels and diffuser a lot too, very tastefully done.

Looks great as always mike! The spoiler, painted mufflers, drop, rims... everything flows gracefully. Very tasteful indeed.

Looks like it, as he said the blue line is with the injen SRI and red with both intake and exhaust, so he basically gained ~15-18whp with just the exhaust on top of the intake. Cant see the exactly peak difference due to the early cut off of the SRI dyno but i reckon thats some good gains throughout.
