Buy a new one when it's worn out. It's only $45 or so.

Either that or clear nail polish over the lettering?

I can't imagine how someone wears the lettering off of the start button.
Mine looks brand new.

They're pretty cheap. Some have even swapped out to the GT-R buttons.

is your friend one of those who holds it down to start the car? He probably does that and moves his finger down while holding it.. dont do that and you should be good.. Ive had my car since 07 and my start button looks brand new

Mine has not a single flaw after 3 years of use. He must have had some type of chemical on his hand or something. Thats not normal.

Just replace it when the button wears down... they are not that expensive....

but if you want to just be careful, when you push the button make sure you only push it with the center of your finger, and avoid using your nail.

Is your friends car a G? Sorry, I had to ask.
Mine looks brand new. It shouldn't wear out.

yea. I was thinking about this thread earlier when I started my car. I just hold down the break pedal, push the button with my index finger for one second and let go. my G is 2008 and the button still looks new. OP, your friend must be punching the button while wearing a ring or something.
