Door Seals Always Coming Loose - Addressed Several Times

I've had my rubber door seals looked at several times at the dealership because they keep coming lose from the door. Each time I pickup the vehicle after the service, it's fixed but it keeps happening again.

I thought there was a TSB on this issue and that they used the information in the TSB to make the repair but am I mistaken? Did they simply just put the existing rubber seals back into place somehow without addressing the underlying problem?

Any feedback wouuld be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not sure about the TSB, but just yesterday my dealer addressed this issue. He said they added double sided foam tape beneath the seals. Time will tell if this fixes the issue.

It is sad that in many ways, Infiniti is still learning how to be a luxury car make.

Hey PJ,

I paid the membership fee at the site that lets you download the TSBs (forget the name). The TSB really does just say put tape on the seal. Pretty ridiculous. Do a more permanent job yourself with some glue or something.

3M weatherstrip adhesive will fix them forever. Comes in black too.

Dealer took care of one door seal replacement which is coming off but other doors they put some glue/tape beneath.

Same problem here. It has happened repeatedly although I'm not sure how they attempted to fix it.

I agree with that statement that Infiniti is still learning but in all fairness if we really wanted true luxury we would have bought lexus. Infiniti is supposed to be both performance and luxury, but IMO is more performance oriented and if that means giving up a little luxury thats fine by me. Its annoying to have to spend 40k and have these little issues but oh well.

I had a problem with that as well, but I fixed it on my own without any adhesive or tape. It has been awhile since it never came off the door again after I fixed it, but I had to pull most of the seal off, then insert it back in a certain way for it to properly push into the slot that the seal is supposed to fit into. Once that was done, it hasn't pulled off again. Once again, IF the seal is in good condition with no rips/tears, you will not need any sort of adhesive or tape to have it fit back into the slot that holds it onto the door.
