Been using a SD to CF adaptor since 2007 3 months after purchasing my G. This solution resolved 3 important problems associated with the use of compact flashes. 1. They were much more expensive the SD cards. 2. Once I put the CF card in slot I had the hardest time trying to get it out. 3. They’re bulky and not easily stored. 1a. The 2GB SD cards (which considering the limitations were the best choice) were obtainable for about $5.00 each on sale. 2b. The extra length of the adaptor made it easier to remove. 3a. Storage now is easier besides the bulk of the adaptor the cards themselves are a breeze to store.

yes, SD to CF adaptor is the way to go.

if you use iphone like me, get blackberry BT gateway, ground isolator, and plug into RCA, it works wonder, sound is good too.

If i can find a SD to CF adaptor under $10, i will try it, but so far no luck.

Ok. Wouldn't it be cheaper if we just burn MP3 CD's instead of using a CF card? Is there a sound quality difference?

I think I'm in the minority here. If I'm not listening to Sat. radio, I'm listening through my CF slot. The 512 song limit is ok with me since I'm not a guy who has 50k albums. Damn, I'm sounding old.

^ exact same here.

Also, if I remember correctly, it displays mp3s in the order in which they were copied to the CF card. I remember wondering why they weren't showing up alphabetized and since then I've always wiped the card clean and copied all mp3s again in alphabetical order whenever I had new ones to add. I should spend more time testing this. It could be very well be stupid user error.

I've been looking at CF card prices and it just doesn't add up. So I think I'll just stick with burning MP3 CD's.

Another newbie question. Inside the center consul, there is RCA plugs. Can we watch DVD's off of our navi screen?
