Sounds good! Of course, it's hard to tell from videos, but those sound louder than the Gen 3s. I can barely tell mine are there, compared to stock. lol

Probably sounds louder to people outside though.

When you pick your car up, ask them what their reasoning is for no splash shield, could you?

check out some youtube vids there should be a few with just the intake at least on the previous gens, the intakes make good sound especially the SRI at rpms higher than 3k, the VQ's with SRI make perfect sound imo, but in this case for Kul i believe the sound from his HFCs greatly over power the moderate intake sound.

They felt no need... But the are considering building a filter the the prefilter built in for those concerned.

Why not make your own shield? If you can get the bumper off and do the install, making a shield is easy. I would have bought this kit instead of making my own at that price. I think my intake is louder, though.

Thanks for asking Kul. I really wonder what their reasoning is for this. Just seems silly for them to save a few bucks for R&D when the potential is there for getting a bad rep when people's MAFs start getting screwed up like some have experienced with the Injen longtubes.

Intakes are intakes... I personally am not a fan of stillen an very intakes more as something for sound and looks. The hp is typically minimum and they gains most advertise are not accurate. I dyno'd 3 intakes (before injen, stillen g3 and afe) and gains were neg to +5... 80/hp is expensive!

I disagree. Users with Stillen Gen3 and Injen CAI who posted their dyno results on this and other forums universally posted impressive gains (10+hp). I figure, if you are going to lay down cash for an intake anyways, why not pay the extra $200 or whatever to ensure positive gains.

To pay to make noise and loose hp is ricer. Just put a playing card in your wheel spokes, too. Crazy loud mad noise props gee.

Is the $200 really worth the extra 2-5hp? Injen also has issues with hydrolock. I used the first stillen when it was out and had lost power and personally think their CS is terrible. I personallY would not pay more than $400 for an intake period... The most noticeable difference when getting an aftermarket intake is the first the sound, second the looks, third gains...

2-5?

And when I needed a new splash shield (the one that came with mine was crooked), Josh was right there to help me.

"Old" intake = Stillen Gen 3.
