Trouble with black rubber door trim!

I've got a 07 G35. I've had trouble with the small rubber trim that runs on top of the door and down to the mirror. (Its the rubber trim peice that seals against the car body when the door is closed.) It snaps into a groove or a track on the top of the door. But any little touch or bump and it pops out of the track and its very tough to get back in. I often bump it when I get out and close the door. I've had the dealership fix it several times and they say they use double sticky tape to help it stay in the track better. But it doesn't work very well. Is there a trick or maybe a special tool used to snap it back in? I used a small flat screwdriver once and it took me probably 45 minutes to snap in a 20" section! Im hoping there is a fix to this annoying problem. Thx!

there is a tool for this and in fact a TSB as well, check out infinitihelp.com under 07 G35 and you should find it.

Same thing happened to me. Keep trying, you'll get it. It took me a while, but with patience and time I got it to snap back in and stay in. Try to follow it up the edge, you might have to apply some force. I used my key to push some parts in. Once its in, don't touch it!

Thx for the input! I will look up that TSB and try to snap it in again, but this time after a couple beers!
