BAD CURB ACCIDENT..need some help advice

Hey all,

I just hit some ice went over a curb. luckily the curb caught me otherwise I 'd be in oncoming and at the hospital right now. However I think my G is going to need some majore help. The curb was a high curb so when s lid and jumped it it caught the under carriage. I heard things breaking I smelt stuff as well. When I got pulled off the car still was able to barely drive it was sliding and losing it at 10km/h. I managed to park it luckily and noticed that the back passenger wheel was bent in bit and off centre. my steering column was off centrered as well.

Can anyone predict what the damages will be like?

don't have any... u won't be able to tell anything cause it looks like nothing happened except the rear tire...it will be lifted tomorrow I'm assuming and that's when I'm in for a nightmare. Insurance is going to skyrocket on me! bloody salters in TO were right in front of me and didn't even bother salting an icy road!

When my brother took his 2007 Lexus ES350 onto a curb, it costed around 5k to fix all the damages. He hit the curb so hard that the brake shattered and all the suspension components had to be replaced.

if he claims it under insurance his rate will definitely go up. same thing happened to me in a snow storm a couple years ago and all they said is "you have to drive according to road conditions"

Rates always go up when you make a claim. No matter what company it is.

Hope you get everything figured out, OP.

doesnt make a difference, with a single car accidents you will always be at fault. The road could have been completely layered with ice and absolutely no salt sprayed anywhere, but the insurance company's just going to look at you and say "drive according to road conditions, not everyone else crashed so it must have been your fault....next time drive like a granny"

However, the only exception I was told to this single car accident rule in Ontario is if the accident was caused by an animal jumping in front of your way - makes sense since no way you could avoid an accident in that situation. But you're gonna have a hard time convincing insurance that you swerved to avoid hitting a squerall in a toronto snow storm

let's just hope it's nothing big. make sure to call standard auto in Scarborough for any parts you need, they usually have a couple wrecked G's you can salvage some parts from

here, standard auto has two 2007 sedans in their yard and they both seem to be front accident cars so you should be good for rear end parts
