How did you go about painting the roof? I would like to do mines but not sure exactly how it would turn out since its such a big area to cover with the PD. How do I keep a clean sharp edge when taking off the masking tape?

Very carefully and take your time. With larger swaths, it's easy to apply too much in one area. Since it's a horizontal plane, PD is not as forgiving with mistakes. My first three or four layers turned out nice. It's the succeeding layers where i screwed it up, humidity was building and i got impatient -- haste certainly does make waste.
All around the roof there are gaps that separate it from the rest of the car (front - windshield, side - roof rail, rear - glass). I sprayed through into those gaps, masking everything else. After every layer i'd run a toothpick to help separate it from the tape. Also, when it was time for the mask to come off, in areas that picked up, i carefully scored it with an Xacto. The gap areas are so thin so it's easy, and you can tuck the very little pick-ups back nicely.
p.s. It's really not worth your time, even after the first few nice coats, i wasn't entirely happy with the overall effect. Matte vinyl looks better by comparison, IMHO.
