oem lower grille problem

i had my from bumper replaced at a body shop a few months ago and i have noticed the lower black grilles are chipping the black paint off. I didn't think the oem grilles were painted and i was told this was oem, can someone confirm the lower grilles are not painted and just black plastic from factory?

Yep, the OEM bumper is just black plastic. They may have primered the entire bumper, painted the grill black and the rest your body color, although that's really going above and beyond -- something i don't see a lot of paint shops doing.

Pic of my OEM prior to painting.

+1 the lower grill is just black plastic through and through. Definitely not painted plastic.
