Brake Judder TSB
Brake Judder TSB
I have read through all of the posts on here regarding the brake judder TSB for the 07-09 G. It seems all of you that are/were under warranty at the time had the serivce completed for free under warranty.
My G seems to be experiencing the judder. At first I thought it may be due to the fact that the car was sitting for a bit before I bought it...just needing to get the brakes worn in. I hadn't taken it on the highway since I bought it until Monday. I noticed that it seems to be getting worse. I found the TSB and called my local dealer to set up an appt to get it taken care of.
They tried to tell me that it was not covered under warranty and that I would have to pay for the serivce. I argued back and told them it was covered since this was a problem with the original parts that were put on. I scheduled an appt for tomorrow morning to take my car in. Any reason why they are trying to charge me for this other than to screw me out of money?

Try to politely tell them that this is a known issue and that others have gotten the TSB done under warranty. Make sure they do everything in the TSB including the splash shields. As long as everything is OE, it should all be covered. If they say it isn't covered, I would hold off on getting it fixed. Take the service receipt they give you and then call corporate to complain (nicely).
Yeah, that is what I explained to the service receptionist. I think they are going to do it for free since I brought up those points, but we will see. If it comes down to it, I will open a complaint with corporate to get it taken care of.
Glad it was taken care of for you. My dealership did mine when I brought the car in for a totally unrelated issue. They didn't even tell me they were going to do it until after it was done, free of charge of course.
Yeah, they tried to give me the run around when I called in about it, but I ended up working with a different tech than I spoke with on the phone. He was a good guy. I am going to make sure I bring my car to him every time to hopefully develop a relationship.

Nature of Nissan's I guess. Until I went with ceramic pads on my Maxima they warped every year.
EDIT: I had this TSB done last year at about 32K IIRC.

yeah, it seems a lot of people on here had this issue reoccur within 1-2 years of having the TSB performed. If it happens again, I plan on continuing to take it in to the dealership until they get sick of seeing me for the same problem. Maybe I can convince them to cover the cost of aftermarket rotors as that seems to be the solution...unlikely but its worth a shot, ha.
I had the brake judder problem corrected free of charge under warranty with aftermarket rims and low profile tires without any problems at Escondido Infiniti in CA. Not sure what the dealer would've said if my G was lowered as well. Anyways, after about 7k miles the brake judder returned and now I'm out of warranty. I'm planning on going with aftermarket brake pads and rotors.
new wheels and tires is one thing, but lowering is another. It will probably be hit or miss at different dealers. You may have to drive around to a few different dealers before you can convince them that lowering your car had nothing to do with the rotors being warped.
