Which tire would you get? - High Rated on TireRack
I plan to buy my next tires for G through TireRack. I am happy with TireRack for my last purchase and experience replacing tires on my '02 Maxima with these Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires. These tires really changed the driving dynamics of that car.
Any of these worthy replacements for the stock tires on my X?
Ride quality, noise and wet weather traction are important to me.

I think either Michelin would be a good choice. The LX platinum is not great in wet and feels soft. The Pilot Sport A/S Plus is the best tire I've had but I run winter tires in the winter.
either michelin should be fine, dont go with kumho ecsta, had em on my last car and once they get a git broken in they were super loud compared to the bridgestones i used to have before not sure if they changed the compound after to fix it or not though

The Primacy's are pretty weak on the performance front. Had them on my Maxima and they were a let down in the corners. Just FYI.

i'll cast my vote for the kumhos. i have them on right now. for the money, they are a very quiet and smooth riding tire. the rears even come with a slightly higher load rating which gives you more cargo capacity in the trunk and the extra ply gives you a confident feeling during hard driving. i do agree the kumhos cannot be pushed as hard as a more performance oriented tire. they do not have the "stiction" of a racing tire on pavement. they tend to slide in a somewhat predictable and controlled fasion without squealing when pushed to the limit. this doesn't bother me as i'm old and don't drive like a bat out of hell anymore!
if you don't push your car hard or track it, the kumhos will give you a good, luxury car ride. the are far superior to the factory bridgestones or whatever crap came on the car when new.
the kumhos also have wide, circumferential grooves which make them great in the rain, even for a wide tire. i have not had hydroplaning issues with this tire.
i have no experience with the michelin's although my dealer (who is more and more suspect each visit) said they had the most satisfied customers. at almost the twice the price of the kumhos, i should think they better!
with the 6MT, since we can't rotate, my feeling was why pay twice as much for a tire that probably won't last 30K miles?
i also had an alignment done at the time the tires were put on and i am very satisfied with the way the car runs and drives. i run about 32psi or whatever keeps the TPMS from coming on in the rears. i run the fronts about 8-10 psi higher which makes the turn in crisp and keeps the fat rears with the limited slip diff from pushing the thinner fronts around in turns. i found when i ran the fronts at recommended pressure, the sidewalls were just a little too soft and could be rolled a bit excessively by the torque the rear could provide. so far, at about 5K on the tires, no wear issues.
i'm very satisfied with the kumhos for the kind of driving i do.

I put the Michelins on my wife's non-sport G35. The car rides SO much better than it did stock and they came with a 60k mile warranty. It was worth the $$$ IMHO. For my G35S I'm probably going to go w/ Michelins as well.
