cheap z-tube alternative?

Ive seen a cheap looking chrome intake tube at pepboys/AAP that looks the same size/shape as a z-tube, but theyre really cheap...what would be the disadvantages of getting that? (assuming it fits)

The advantages would be zero because it doesn't fit.

well z-tube is pretty much the stock intake tube without any outlets for breather elements etc, its a straight tube, so for the 2nd gen you can get those silicone tubes(cant remem the name) a few ppl have here, search for silicone intake tubes in 2nd gen forums.

HPS tubes

Cor sport sells them. ive got some. they do require some trimming on the vent tubes. they arent direct replacement. increase in sound is minimal, however i can hear a difference.

Buy a used Z tube they go for $40 to $60 on here, I just bought a pretty much new Stillen Z tube for fifty bucks and installed in 20 mins, fitment was a pain but doable!
