Just to be clear when I say "faster" shifts in DS, I mean the shift itself is firmer and that it takes less time to occur. "Faster" does not mean DS mode shifts to a higher gear sooner than D in the rev band. It is equivalent to letting out of the clutch faster and therefore returning power to the drivetrain faster. When driving in D, I feel the upper gear clutches let go after the lower gear is engaged. This is done for smoothness and has no performance or efficiency effect. The shifts are soft and the car feels like it's slightly engine breaks. Maybe wot programming is the same for both D and DS, but I still side with DS simply based on how different it performs at part throttle.
