Hey everyone, I'm a proud new owner of a platinum graphite 2008 G35X w/ premium package. I'm coming from a horribly unreliable BMW 545i, I hope I have better luck with the G.

I would like to do the M45 leather shift **** mod, can someone provide me with a link? I can't seem to find it on ebay.

Also, is the iPod the only MP3 player that will work with the factory integration? I'm not an Apple fan and I was hoping there might be an adapter that would work for a Sandisk Sansa.

Lastly, what do you guys think the value of the stock 17" wheels are (with like new Yokohama Avid ENVigor tires)? I might try to sell them and upgrade to 19's.

Thanks guys, honestly it's just a bone stock clean G35X. I was going to detail/wash and take pics today, but with Easter and all I didn't have enough time.

 

I know your not an apple fan (i dont know why you wouldnt be) but honestly theres nothing better. I dont want to hijack this thread but take a hint...if most cars nowadays are coming from factory with an apple usb sync cable then its for a reason. Ipod's and iPhones are so good that they have become the standard

PS I used to be like that, everything I had I wanted nothing to do with apple until one day I decided to be open minded and gave it a try and VOILA now I see the light lol

My advice to you would be to just make your life easier and buy an ipod...you wont regret it. Goodluck and congrats on your new purchase!

I just read the whole thing! Well, I am a fan of the 545 and 550. Is there any different in speed between the G and 545?! The stock 17" should be worth around $600-$900. I've seen G37 coupe 19" selling for $900. So 17" should be a lot cheaper!

I work in the IT world, Apple makes great products, especially on the hardware end. However, I refuse to deal with iTunes and the fact Apple is so proprietary. With a Sansa Sandisk you can simply drag and drop files right into the player, just like an external hdd. Apple may be the standard for vehicles currently, but you will see that change in the future. There are many other mp3 players and Android phones (which overtook market share from iPhone this past quarter) that rival Apple products. In the end it comes down to personal choice, to be honest I may just buy a subscription to XM as I mainly listen to music when I'm in my car and not elsewhere. Thanks for your input though.

Pretty much lol. In 8 months of ownership it went through 2 thermostats, entire wiring harness, brake booster and mechatronics unit. And this was a CPO car.

They are similar in acceleration and gas mileage. The 545i might have been a hair faster off the line and a bit smoother during shifts. Thanks for the info. I would love buy some 19" G37 wheels and powder-coat them dark gray.
