noisy compressor....AGAIN!!

back in september they replaced my noisy compressor under warranty.... and the sound went away. now it's doing it again. Happens when doing under 2000 rpm. Obviously something is causing every compressor installed to get loud overtime.... is there some sort of a retarded break in period for a compressor in a g????

I am thinking maybe something is ruining the compressors overtime, but obviously the dealer is clueless since all they do is replace it.

Anyone have a clue? I have a g35x 2008.

I had mine replaced twice also, once in 2009 and again in 2010. Knock on wood, this one is still running well. Btw i have a 2007 g35x, So once after 2 years of owning and again a year after that.

Mines does that as well. it's so annoying. I keep thinking it might be the area where the pulley and the clutch meet. It doesn't do it when cold. only after running for a while. this is a known problem in our cars. I'm going to see if i can fit another compressor from another model infiniti because i think this won't get fixed anyime soon.

I got mine replaced this past summer, now it's making noises again.
I'm considering getting the Elite extended warranty so that i don't ever have to pay to replace anything in this otherwise awesome car.

I am just afraid of this happening outside of warranty... I have the elite extended till 100k, and I currently have 35k. I want to give this car to someone in my family once it runs out, but if this crap keeps happening outside of warranty its gonna be a bitch paying for it...

I have the same issue but I'm not too worried TBH.
It's noisy yes, but I'd rather have freezing cold A/C in 130F ambient temps than be stuck with a quiet but crappy BMW A/C system.

Keep ur ac on, car in park, run ur rpm up slowly upto 1750 rpm... if u hear a whirling sound, turn off ur ac to see if its gone.. if so its a bad compressor

I have a weird sound even with the AC being off, I hear a whining high pitched whirring sound it sounds almost like in the summer when you hear those bugs by the lake making the buzzing sound. I think I'm just going to take my car into the dealership and see if they can figure out whats making that noise and hopefully its covered under my extended warranty.

I had the sound, especially bad in the winter and then, especially when it was really cold. I had no help from the stealership when I went in so one morning took a video of the car from outside where you could clearly hear it. I never uploaded it and reset my phone the other day losing it.

At least now I know what it may be.

Really wish I hadn't lost that evidence. Does it happen to all of you in recent weather? Spring / Summer?

Ok so my compressor was replaced, and the other day when I turned off the ac (while engine was running, car in park) I could have sworn I heard the same clanking sound as it did before... It hasnt been heard since. Anyone know what it maybe? Its only heard when the ac is spinning down to off...
